The challenge was to create maximum flexibility so that it simply can be changed from cafe to venue. Effekt architects have designed the rebuilding of the entire Musiktorvet, which further includes venues, theater and rehearsal rooms. We have also collaborated on outdoor furniture for the café and lounge areas. All areas will be finished in summer 2012. When designing customized furniture, there are many parameters to take into account. One is to respect the architecture. Another is to ensure that the furniture create the optimal surroundings for the various guidance situations. To meet the different needs, employees were involved in the design process. The result is accommodating padded surfaces and rounded corners. The depth of the tables creates a professional distance when you stand face-to-face. And elevation tables and study materials invite to be used and ensure that Education Service meets current workplace requirements. So, while the furniture’s padded surfaces and rich colours provide historical gravity, the curved shapes and distinct stitching gives an informal and contemporary identity in the classic framework. About Street Machine: Street Machine was started by 2 young revolutionaries in Paris in 1988. The shop quickly became the core of the French skate scene in these heady days. Following the success of the French chapter and the dream of one of the young entrepeneurs, the team planted a seed just north of Mexico in the surf and skate haven that is San Diego. Recently voted best skate shop in San Diego the store is obviously representing. Wanting to bring the Streetmachine dream back to his home town, O.G. entrepeneur Tobia opened the Copenhagen store in 1996. In the very heart of the city, streetmachine has helped nurture skateboarding in Denmark from shaky roots to solid foundations.
